      1.  FTP your  River Report today.  Remember how?   Look on the side of your computer for 
instructions. You MUST transfer what you have - even if your report is not complete.

2. For 1st quarter, I will use this checklist to give you a grade on your current draft.

3. We will continue to improve your report next week, and the full report will count as a
grade for 2nd quarter. Your grade will be decided with this
checklist.
This is the LAST day of First Quarter - only THREE MORE,  seniors!!

Topic:   Earth's Seasons and IPY: Seasonal Change in a River

sat     1.   Open Google Earth and find where we were on Thursday.  
Look up 2000 Half Street, SW, Washington, DC.
 
Follow the Anacostia river to the northeast.  Where did we stop?
Then follow the Anacostia to the southwest,
to the Potomac river. Follow the path of the water all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. Then find MSSD!

   2.  Here again are pictures from the Anacostia River Pilot trip.

   3. Look at this map of our stations on the Anacostia River trip.

  4.  Finish putting the river data on a web page (continued from Monday).

  5.  Add this picture to your data page:   Anacostia Web Cam view.

  6.  River data report:  Meet at the tables and I will explain how to write this report.

     1.  Here are pictures from the Anacostia River Pilot trip.  Read these pages.

2. Salinity: Mary measured the salinity and found zero salt for all 3 stations.
So the Anacostia is a freshwater river.

3. Plankton: We need to try to describe the plankton. Try again to find and draw plankton.

Put the river data on a web page:        
1. Open Dream Weaver to make a web page. Create a folder on your H drive called "Science Web Pages".
2. Click here , open, and save the data file in that folder.
3. Open the file in Dream Weaver.
4. Type in all of the data. Save.
