Tree
#1 Silver Maple (Acer
saccharinum)
Observers: Krzys,
Ebony, Trey
Our Tree
in February!
February 22, 2002 We want to know what day the buds will burst! We want to know what causes budburst on that date. Maybe it depends on temperature, or precipitation. |
|
April 18, 2002
|
Krzys's branch, February 22, 2002 We think these are flowers (in February). We learned the flowers have male and female parts. There are no leaves yet. We think there will be leaves when it becomes warm. |
April 14, 2002 We learned the tree's name is Silver Maple (Acer saccharinum)

May 21, 2002
|
February 22, 2002 Ebony observes the Maple buds. The tiny Maple Flowers cover the branch. We tied a pink marker to the branch so we can find it later. |

Temperature and Precipitation Record
|
Weather Station ![]() |
The weather station helps us measure air temperature and precipitation. The station is very important to us because it helps us find out how temperature and precipitation influence budburst. |
