Six RULES to remember for making a web page
1. File Names: NO SPACES in the file name.
Example RiverData.html will work. River Data.html will have problems (the space causes problems).
2. Pay Attention to file name extensions: .jpg and .gif are PICTURES.
.html is a web page (text)
3. New Pages: Use DreamWeaver... not MS Word
4. Files: Keep all of your files in one folder (keep pics & text together)
5. Pictures: SAVE the picture file to the SAME folder
(do not copy and paste )
6. Pay attention to the PATH NAME when you make a link
(both picture & web page links)
Remember: For web pages, text and pictures are separate files.
Keep your web page files all together.
Web pages will work only if
=> the .html is in your web account
=> every picture file is in your web account
=> links (path names) are correct
