Writing Guide for the Anacostia River Report
This report will be on a web page. Use Dreamweaver for writing all pieces of this report.
Save everything in ONE FOLDER on your H drive. Later you will post your report on the Internet.
Include all of the following in your report:
Introduction: Tell briefly what we did on the river and what was the purpose (our goal).
Location: Show the three stations where we stopped on the river (use Mary's map)
Three stations
description - write a description of each place we stopped.
River Data: Show all of the data on one page (done)
Data Analysis - Write a summary of each kind of data and compare the data for the 3 stations.
Example: "We observed cirrus clouds at station 1, and stratoscirrus for stations 2 and 3.
This means the clouds were about the same each place we stopped, all morning."
Include a description & comparison of the plankton that we found.
Vocabulary: Write definitions of these words
- watershed, estuary, salinity, plankton, season,
biome, reference point, tide,
ebb tide, flood tide, slack tide, water transparency,
Summary: Write a 1-1.5 page summary report.
Include: => summary of what you did at the river
=> what you saw at the river
=> what you learned from the measurements (compare patterns)
=> and what you learned from this trip.
=> pictures to support your explanation.
=> use most of the vocabulary words &
=> use the names of the spheres in your
explanation.
You can write this report all on one page, OR write on separate pages and link to a cover page.
I will grade your report with this rubric (use the rubric to help you write a good report).
