Tree phenology studies=>

On Thursday, May 3, the MSSD science department welcomed 9 middle school students and their teachers
from Anvil City Science Academy, Nome, Alaska.
 The ACSA students are involved in the GLOBE Program and phenology studies, as are many MSSD science students.
The two schools are meeting to exchange cultural and environmental information about our two localities.

The ESS students are interested in talking with the Alaskan students who live nearly as far north as the Arctic Circle.   Understanding of changes in polar regions is key understanding the current situation with climate change.

The purpose of the visit was a cultural and environmental exchange between students from different backgrounds and climates.
