Tour at the Finnish Association of the Deaf

Friday's conference schedule included several concurrent sessions for student GLOBE research presentations in the morning and afternoon.  The MSD/MSSD students were also able to find time in the afternoon to meet some Finnish Deaf friends at the Albert School for the Deaf and the Finnish Association of the Deaf (FAD).

After a tour of the Albert School for the Deaf by Mr. Markku Lepojarvi, Principal, (sorry no photos!)  we visited the beautiful new facility of the Finnish Association for the Deaf.  Mr. Kimmo Leinonen gave us a tour of the FAD building.

Mr. Leinonen, Assistant to the Dictionary of Sign Language Research Project, showed us through all the facilities at the fabulous new FAD building, including his own office where he gave us a look at the new and extensive Finnish Dictionary of Sign Language published just this summer.
