Gallaudet University and the Laurent Clerc Center invite science and math teachers to a GLOBE Teacher Training Workshop to be held on the Gallaudet campus July 14-18, 2003. The workshop will be taught by GLOBE trainers H. David Snyder, Ph.D., and Mary S. Ellsworth, with assistance from the esteemed Dr. Elissa Levine, GLOBE Scientist and Soils Scientist, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
The GLOBE Program is a hands-on environmental science and education program that unites students, educators, and scientists from around the world in studying the global environment.
The
workshop will train teachers of the deaf to do the GLOBE measurements with
their students, use GLOBE images in the classroom, integrate science activities
from the GLOBE on-line curriculum, and create partnerships among students
at GLOBE schools around the world.
Teachers of the Deaf from more than 50 schools have trained at Gallaudet. Over 10,000 schools in more than 95 countries are participating in the GLOBE Program.
